On the occasion of the customary personal apologies that are apropos to the day, allow me to say that I have a sense of collective guilt as an American Orthodox believer. I am ashamed of the destruction that our federal government has brought down upon the Ukrainian people by provoking Russia into a shooting war with that country. I said as much to a Russian lady at our Forgiveness Sunday trapeza today. I hope that she and our Slavic brethren will be able to forgive us for embroiling them in this war so far from our own shores.
God only knows how this war will end, and certainly we will not be the only ones to blame for starting it, but I have an uneasy feeling that our proud American nation will to some extent be held accountable for the poisonous seeds that our government has sown in Ukraine and the lies that we have told about Russia for the last decade. “For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind.” Hosea 8:7

I wrote this two days ago and sent it to a friend to help cheer her mood and refocus her laser pointed attention on the only thing which matters. A relationship with God. I suggested she stop taking into her head, mind and soul all the doom and gloom news the fake media likes to regurgitate. Not that the current US(S)A atrocities are to be marginalized or diminished. Turns out that our “great” Government is involved in and filled with PURE EVIL malicious people who are gonna hate. No different mind you, than Hitler’s Nazi regime purging of 6,000,000 Jews. I’m continually astounded at how far, wide and deep the tentacles of the Octopus reach…
The only way through this storm is with GOD. This spiritual war is God’s fight. We are the intercessors called to pray for the war taking place now in the spiritual realm. The spiritual realm is where the fight is won before manifesting in the physical realm. GOD IS THE WAY, THE LIGHT, THE TRUTH, AND THE ANSWER. Period.
Lord in the name of Jesus, please forgive us for sleeping. Forgive us for the multitude of sins we have committed and have allowed to take place on our watch. Forgive us for being too preoccupied and complacent living to fulfill OUR will by continuing to maintain the comfortable status quo; to stand up bravely, even as we risk righteous persecution in defense of Your law, order and will. The sheepple are in the process of awakening but find that without You, they have no direction. Lord have mercy upon us, your children, show us the way through and out of the darkness of the storm into Your light, lead us not into temptation, lead us onto Your path of righteousness delivering us from the evil which seemingly surrounds us. Lord Jesus hear our petitions as we pray for supernatural healing of our land and brethren, with a peace and wisdom that transcends ALL understanding.
Lord, thank you for revealing the miraculous occurring around us for the building of our Faith. Even if Damar Hamlin chooses to deny your existence, we bear as witness to your powerful healing and restoration of life as Your undeniable Glory. Thank you for the manifestation of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit taking place at college campuses and universities throughout our country. Lord may your seeds spread like wildfire taking root in university campuses everywhere. May your branches reach far and wide for a great harvest of souls for life eternal in the Holy Name of Jesus. Amen.
